Welcome to our school!

A school tribute web site can be a creative way of getting students excited about a subject, keeping them up to date on assignments, providing them with valuable online resources, helping them reconnect with old friends, find out what's new at school now, and the various changes over the years of people and student life. Because a school site should be engaging, we'll present information that makes the subjects you study (if you are a current student) or studied (if you're alumni) interesting and fun, such as brain teasers or polls about current events. Of course, we'll want to include plenty of links so students and alumni can explore a wealth of ideas on the web.

What is this site about. My goal for the group is that one day I was overly curious about what happened to people from my graduating class, and wanted to know more about what they are up to now, so I created a group on myspace, but for ANY graduating class. My goal for this site is to enhance the myspace group, and let more people know we exist for current students, alumni, friends, and family members.
In the group, we will answer many questions I had when creating the group ...

We will answer questions like these and more: MARRIED? Tell us who you are (include graduation year) and who your better half is (include his/her graduation year + h.s. name) in WHO MARRIED WHO?.

ENGAGED? Or, maybe you just got engaged or thinking about it? Let us know in WHO'S GETTING MARRIED?

GOT KIDS?  Just had a baby? Announce a new arrival
the baby pool or HAVE A KID(S) ON THE WAY? Share your joy Announce a pregnancy or maybe YOU HAD KID(S) IN HIGH SCHOOL even though you were still just a kid yourself Tell us about your family

DATING Maybe you haven't found the right one for you yet. Ok, spill it. So, who are you dating? Spill the beans in WHO'S DATING WHO?. Or let's take a peek back at WHO DATED WHO just for kicks.

IN BETTWEEN JOBS? Maybe your kids are grown, you're in a mid-life crisis and looking for work. Tell us about it.

LIVING ELSEWHERE IN THE COUNTRY OR OVERSEAS? You left high school to enlist in the miliary or the like, and are based overseas. Or, you simply choose to move out of the country for whatever reason. Share your experience

FAVORITE HANGOUT DURING HIGH SCHOOL? Where did you and your friends hang before or after school? Tell us in Where we hung out

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FUTURE GRADUATING CLASSES? We were all graduating seniors once. Do you have any advice for classmates in classes behind yours?
Let them know

WERE YOU THE CLASS CLOWN? Every class has one, that bubbly outspoken kid who comments no matter what and who just loves clowning around in general. Tell us about him or her from your class

WHAT TOWN ARE YOU FROM? You don't have to be from Severy Hill to love the towns in Maine. Where were you from when you attended/graduated high school? Where do you live now? Tell us about your town
HOW DO/DID YOU SHOW YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT? Cheering, going out for sports, rooting for the school team at the big game...were you a cheerleader, on the football team, or maybe you ran with the track team? played soccer? Tell us how you showed your school spirit

Remember if you are a parent of a current student or alumni, friend of either, family member or friend of the school you can join our group too.

Here, I might put a weekly brain teaser, for example:

Three less than 4 times a number is greater than 4 times the sum of the number and 1. Find all such numbers.

Post what you think the answer is to the group.

    GUN SCARE AT DIRIGO HIGH
Content courtesy: Oct 11 Lewiston Sun Journal

Two boys ages 15 and 16 were charged in connection with a gun scare at the school Tuesday afternoon, about a half hour after classes ended for the school day. Police arrested the two boys immediately, charging each with terrorizing with a firearm, which is a felony. The boys are due to be arraigned in Rumford District Court on the charges on Nov. 13th. As a result of hearing that a gun was in the vicinity of the western maine high school, school officials placed the building on lock-down and only a handful of students were allowed back in during this proceedure.

DIXFIELD BOY DIES IN FREAK ACCIDENT

    Monday September 9

A fifth grader in the community, Lucas Dolloff, 11, is confirmed dead. He was apparently playing in the sand which he loved to do, when a sandpile in the trench he'd dug out back of his house in Dixfield fell in on him, suffocating the boy. His dad works at the Rumford Mill (formerly Meadwestvaco), and went out to look for him, and went he saw no sign of the boy he called the police. Paramedics were dispatched but could not revive the boy. The family dogs tried to dig the boy out but didn't quite make it. The father caught ahold of the boy's arm when he decided to call for help. The family is no stranger to tradegy, having lost a 3 year old son Joseph to cancer in 1991...

I'll post your thoughts on the "Class Bulletin Board" page.
